Ho Fellows Book Publications The following books were written collectively by Dr. Laung-Terng (L.-T.) Wang and Irving T. Ho Chair Professors (Dr. Kwang-Cheng Chen and Dr. Homer H. Chen) at National Taiwan University in the fields of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Design for Test, Wireless Communications, and Multimedia Signal Processing. We also encourage and invite all Honorary Irving T. Ho Fellows and all Irving T. Ho Fellows to post your own books (be they in medicine, science, business, etc.) here.
VLSI Test Principles and Architectures This book (published in July 2006) combines in a unique way insight into industry practices commonly found in commercial DFT tools but not discussed in textbooks, and a sound treatment of the future fundamentals. The comprehensive review of future test technology trends, including self-repair, soft error protection, MEMS testing, and RF testing, leads students and researchers to advanced DFT research.
System-on-Chip Test Architectures This book (published in November 2007) is a comprehensive guide to new VLSI Testing and Design-for-Testability techniques that will allow students, researchers, DFT practitioners, and VLSI designers to master quickly System-on-Chip Test architectures, for test debug and diagnosis of digital, memory, and analog/mixed-signal designs.
This book (published in February 2009) provides broad and comprehensive coverage of the entire EDA flow. EDA/VLSI practitioners and researchers in need of fluency in an "adjacent" field will find this an invaluable reference to the basic EDA concepts, principles, data structures, algorithms, and architectures for the design, verification, and test of VLSI circuits. Anyone who needs to learn the concepts, principles, data structures, algorithms, and architectures of the EDA flow will benefit from this book.
This book (published in June 2009) is the first to develop cognitive radio into networking as a complete technology solution, after the birth of cognitive radio in 1999. Cognitive radio has been considered as the most promising technology to resolve the dilemma of spectrum shortage in future wireless communications. Recommended by the IEEE Communications Society as the Best Reading in Cognitive Radio, this book contains broad coverage of software defined radio, sensing, medium access, networking techniques, and network economy for researchers and practitioners who need to have the first-hand information on cognitive radio networks.
This book (published in February 2011) provides comprehensive coverage of the scientific and engineering aspects of automatic music emotion recognition. Among the first publications of its kind, this book serves as a ground-breaking reference for researchers and practitioners interested in the background, key techniques, and applications of music emotion recognition.
