Pei-Chen Peng (彭姵晨) is currently a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology group advised by Prof. Saurabh Sinha. She is interested in computational approaches to problems in molecular biology. Her research interest focuses on designing models based on biophysical principles and machine learning techniques to understand how genes are regulated. Her work falls in the area of comparative and regulatory genomics.


She received her BS and MS degrees in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University in 2011 and 2013, under the supervision of Prof. Kun-Mao Chao. She received the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship and Irving T. Ho Memorial Scholarship both in 2012.
